You’re really 1st in your class with a 1490 SAT? I’m something like 18th in my class (of only 135ish people) with an SAT score of 1910, and I’ve been cross country captain for 3 years, had loads of athletic achievements, plenty of academic awards, loads of extra-curriculars, National Honor Society, etc. You MUST bring that score up. There are loads of people applying to schools with 3 sports, various clubs, good class ranks and SAT scores about 1800.
Give your answer to this question below!
4.1 GPA is first in your class? Do you live in an inner-city area?
We have multiple 4.7′s. I’m 76/690 with a 3.99. Also 1490 SAT isn’t even good. It’s average.
But the best college depends on what you want to major in. You could probably get into a public state college. (i.e. Indiana University if you live in IN)
GPA = 4.1 (I’m skeptical and assuming it weighted GPA)
Class Rank = 1 (I’m skeptical)
Yet somehow your SAT is 1490, just how bad is your school system? That’s below average, and even the average score isn’t even decent. And for you to get high grades but not be prepared for the SAT’s…that’s saying a lot about your school.
Anyway, retake SAT, and practice like hell for them, (there are SAT prep books in the library) You rgoal should be at least 1700, though higher is better
And get good teacher recommendations. Also, if your writing skills aren’t great, get your college application essay edited by an English teacher
Otherwise, the college you do get into won’t be that great, academic wise at least, they’ll probably have a great party scene though.
